About Us

What is Y.E.T. Compassion?

Y.E.T. Compassion is a nonprofit ministry rooted in nearly two decades of grassroots mission work that began in South Sudan in 2006. In 2025, the ministry was formally registered as an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Nashville, Tennessee. We serve South Sudanese communities in the U.S.A. and South Sudan through youth mentorship, spiritual formation, education, family empowerment, and community building.

Who founded Y.E.T. Compassion?

Y.E.T. Compassion was founded by Evangelist Gai Bol Luom. The ministry's work began in 2006 with grassroots missions in South Sudan and was formally established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Nashville, Tennessee in 2025.

Where is Y.E.T. Compassion based?

Y.E.T. Compassion is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, where it was registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2025. We also have on-the-ground operations in South Sudan, led by Director David Gai Pandak.

Who does Y.E.T. Compassion serve?

Y.E.T. Compassion primarily serves South Sudanese diaspora youth and families in Nashville, Tennessee. We focus on empowering young people ages 13–25 and their families with mentorship, education, spiritual growth, and community connection.

Does Y.E.T. Compassion work in South Sudan?

Yes. Y.E.T. Compassion's work began in South Sudan in 2006 with missions in the Biong region — building schools, drilling water wells, distributing food, and leading evangelism outreach. Our South Sudan operations are led by Director David Gai Pandak. We also serve the South Sudanese diaspora community in Nashville, Tennessee.

Y.E.T. Compassion offers a range of programs including youth Bible studies, one-on-one mentorship, education support and tutoring, family workshops on parenting and financial literacy, community events, and spiritual formation programming. Visit our Programs page to learn more.

How can I donate?

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Y.E.T. Compassion is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so all donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We'll provide documentation for your records.

Getting Involved

How can I volunteer?

We welcome volunteers in many capacities: youth mentoring, teaching, event coordination, administration, professional skills training, and spiritual formation leadership. Visit our Get Involved page to fill out a volunteer interest form.
